Wrong Contravention Code?

We received a PCN this afternoon while parked outside our son's school for meet the teacher. Very annoying.
Where we parked is normally fine but today they had put a few police no parking cones on the kerb because of a local event. The event was all but over when we parked so we thought they just hadn't picked up the cones yet.
The code on our PCN is 01 Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours but I think they should have used 21 Parked in a suspended bay/space or part of bay/space.
Does anyone have any experience of this situation?
A follow up question, assuming that the contravention code isn't relevant. How far can you park from a police parking cone? They were pretty sparse and we were parked in a large gap between cones.
Thanks for any help you can offer

I think they need a temporary traffic regulation order to suspend parking.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I think they need a temporary traffic regulation order to suspend parking.
On the Reading Borough Council website they say;21 Parked in a suspended bay / space or part of bay/space
This means parking in a space where temporary restrictions are in force, normally denoted by a yellow triangular sign or police cone.
But I don't know if this is universal. I am unaware of any TRO, there were several road closures for the event but none for the road we were parked in.0 -

I think you need to post this along with a picture of the PCN front and back, on a new topic on pepipoo:

It does seem to me that the contravention code is wrong if the street is not normally restricted. That code is used for double or single yellow lines normally.
About 95% of people who post on pepipoo win their case before or at adjudication (or the Council throw in the towel quite often!). Do not just pay, copy your post into a new topic on pepipoo and include the PCN pictures. You should get off this PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the advice I have posted on PePiPoo and will report back.0 -
Well it has taken a few weeks but thanks to advice I received on PePiPoo I have won.
The council rejected my informal and formal representations but then didn't contest it when I appealed.
PePiPoo is wonderful.0 -

Yes contravention codes are universal for council tickets but they mean nothing in private parking land.
Well done on your win :beer:0 -
