Hello everybody,
I am little confused about ASPP. As long as I know, As a dad i can get ASPP upto 19 weeks if mum get back to work before her SMP ending date.
But, my situation little bit difference. My wife have two jobs and she is getting SMP from both jobs and i have one job from where i already got 2 weeks SPP.
Now, my question, if my wife join one of her two jobs before ending date, will i able to take ASPP for her ?
Will be greatfull, if anyone can help us. thanks

You should probably get advice from the HMRC and/or post on the employment board to see if any of the employment experts know the answer but I don't think you can claim ASPP at the same time as the mother is claiming SMP at all.
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Paternityrightsintheworkplace/DG_190788For you to qualify for Additional Paternity Leave you must be taking the time off to care for the child and child's mother or adopter must:- have been entitled to one or more of the following - Statutory Maternity Leave, Statutory Maternity Pay, Maternity Allowance or Statutory Adoption Leave or Pay
- have started working again so that any relevant pay has stopped

If one can get SMP from two jobs, then why it is not possible to get ASPP from one job. So, if she join early in one job, she will loose SMP from that job. Don't know, why it can not be done... anyway, thanks for ur reply.0
