    Also, as an ex-techy (I am medically retired now) I can tell you that Norton uses a lot of system resorces.

    I am not 'knocking' the OP, Just adding my thoughts.

    Also, as an ex-techy (I am medically retired now) I can tell you that Norton uses a lot of system resources.
    I would have written this as "Versions of Norton from two years ago and older used to use a lot of system resources." They have improved quite significantly since around 2008-9, as several tests have shown.

    That's not to say that MSE, Avast, Avira, and so on don't do a pretty good job, and free...

    Oh, by the way, you could buy Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (3 PCs, 1 year) from Amazon for £12.73, and upgrade free to the latest version...
