o2 contract LIES

Hi,
Need help if possible?
I took out a Business 24month contract with o2 on the promise that i could upgrade after 12months and incur no extra contract extension.
I did this as opposed to 18month as it was such a good deal and i get bored easily with phones.

After 3months i received a bill for approx £300, so i called customer service and they said no DD was set up and none of the bolt ons which i need for my usage were put on. they asked if i had been on holiday which i hadn't. Eventually they after do some looking into my contract they said the sales person didn't fill out the forms correctly on my account. They made the appropriate changes, and have been very good on their customer service.

My issue is that i called the other day inquiring about when i could upgrade and to clarify my free upgrade commitment.
I was told that o2 have the right to change contracts whenever they want. Although this offer was never given out to customers.
i feel that the inept sales staff has now put me in a position where If i knew the outlay from the start i would of opted for an 18month contract.

Where do my rights stand?

I'm happy to stay with o2 as they have excellent customer service and one where I could happily say is the best, but i feel i was sold my contract by inexperienced staff member who just wanted to get the process over and done with and should not have been left on their own to conduct a sale.

  • I took out an o2 24 month contract on the understanding that they would let me upgrade after 12months for free.
Called up the other day and was told this offer never existed, if i knew this i would have got an 18month contract.

Do i have any legs to cancel my contract or am i stuffed?

I guess you have a copy of your contact and can quote what exactly it says about the upgrade.
