North Goa - Baga

I am going to North Goa in a few weeks time and I wondered if anyone could give me some advice about the following

Are there ATM's in the towns
Is it safe in the town at night
Is there a local medication for upset stomachs
Is the fruit safe to eat
Whats the alcohol like?

Any other advice that you think will be useful?

No - Calangute is the nearest I found
Yes - just watch out for folk driving without lights / licence and under the influence of various substances

Local beer fine, local spirits variable, nice to have a drop of port to finish a meal

Hi there

I spent a few days in Baga in 1997. It's a really nice little place, felt totally safe and I never worried about walking around, day or night. The food is great and beer and wine are fine. I can't remember about ATMs. You should have a great time. It is quite touristy and it's worth travelling to the south of Goa if you get a chance for quieter and more 'wild' beaches.
