where can I buy rope edging?

hi, we are replacing our patio with a nice victorian reproduction floor. I would like to finish it off with twist roping on either side. can you recommend somewhere I can buy this?

my local garden centre no longer stocks it.

Also at the start of our path is a large stone slab (near the gate) with a massive crack in it. Do you know what these stones are called and where I can find a replacement? I have tried wickes, b&q and specialist kerb stone places without luck.

How about a Chandler's for the rope ? It would have the advantage that it's designed to withstand pretty harsh conditions at sea, so should manage with a patio OK :-) The only problem may be that most ropes these days are synthetic ( nylon or polypropylene ) rather than nice decorative hemp, sisal, whatever, but you may get lucky.

Not sure about the slab - I'd be surprised if Wickes, Jewsons or Travis Perkins couldn't get hold of one for you. Have you tried the Marshall's website, they've got a lot of ranges ?

B & Q Bradstone Rope Edging - this is in "teracotta" but I know you can get it in blue too.

Could you not replace the stone with a "riven" effect slab or slabs?


Have you tried the likes of Jewsons? We have a local builders merchants for all this stuff but have you tried just googling "Rope Edging" or Garden Landscaping Supplies?
