I was wondering if someone could advise/tell me how you go about changing the account that your JSA is paid into? I've decided to change banks and the DirectGov website was no help and didn't have any information on the subject, thanks!

You write a letter with the information required and send it to your local benefit delivery centre.GreenBitterfly wrote: »I was wondering if someone could advise/tell me how you go about changing the account that your JSA is paid into? Name and address
Your NI number
Your old bank details
Your new bank details
Local benefit delivery centre: this will be on any letters they have sent you.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -
If you are in receipt of JSA then you probably go to your local Jobcentre at least every fortnight. May I suggest that on your next appointment you tell them you have a new account. They should give you a simple form to complete (DP Gen) and may even be able to change it there and then for you. Do not close theother account until all payments have been transferred accross, that is how payments go missing.0

Bank details can be changed by simply phoning the benefit delivery centre dealing with your claim0
