£3000 honeymoon. cant go :-(

My sisters getting married so I entered her to win a honeymoon to thailand and got a WEM on tuesday saying she had won.

Since entering the comp she found out she is pregnant and unfortunately the terms and conditions of the comp say she has to take the trip between certain dates and her doctor has told her she cant go. I tried contatcing the magazine that ran the comp to ask if they would extend the dates by a month but they didnt care and said its not their problem.

Im gutted for her and feel responsible for getting her hopes up.

Do you have details for the travel companies? Maybe for an admin fee they would consider re-arranging?

Might be worth contacting the prize sponsors to ask if the dates can be changed.

I had a problem with a trip to Paris, my Mother-in-law died and we were unable to go on the specified dates, was told nothing could be done.

I contacted the hotel in Paris and Eurostar and they allowed the changes with no problems at all :j

Oh what a shame.........not very nice of the company....not very understanding. I suppose if its in the T & C's then there's not a lot you can do....shame they can't offer maybe a smaller prize ......understanding the circumstances though.

My sister has emailed the prize sponsor explaining the situation. Not holding out much hope though as when she spoke to them on the phone they were not very helpful. Fingers crossed though.

I won Men's health magazine comp of the year - Trip to Himalaya's a couple of years back and my wife was due with our second when I had to take the trip. I had to let it go. Bitter pill to swallow, but ultimately you haven't lost anything because you haven't bought it, you won it in a compo.

we had the same, won a weekend in Pirate adventure theme park in Germany, dh broke his ribs 6 weeks before we had to go... I was just really glad I hadn't told the children, as they wouldn't change ours either.

A bit of sympathy for promotors please!

They have often had to 'purchase' a specific holiday in advance and have no control over being able to adjust the dates.

Still, it's a shame!
