Live in 3 bed terraced house. Downstairs lounge/diner has been extended and to heat adequately we use an electric hot air heater. Bearing in mind that we are at work all day and children at schooland we also have hot air heating. Our electric bill is now a whopping £122 per month. I cannot believe this is correct. I would say we have maybe an above average family consumption, dont turn many lights off and pcs and games consoles etc are often left on. I have stopped using tumble dryer so cant think why it is this bad. Is there anyone that I can get out to offer advice on this, or does anyone have any similar experiences.

Is the £122 per month calculated from an actual bill based on real meter readings, or is it, say, your monthly direct debit payment?0

You need to look at how much your bill is ACTUALLY per month, not how much your DD is set at. Do you use a lot less during the summer, and a lot more in winter? Then its prob your heating. How long is your boiler on for? Have a look at the actual prices on your last years ele bills, and then see how much this averages out to a month. And do you currently have a debit balance? This will all be taken into account.0
