Lawn Feed and Weed

With Spring just around the corner, can anyone advise on the best value lawn Feed and Weed.
Is the extra you pay for say Fisons Evergreen worth it or do the cheaper supermarkets own brand do just a good job?

Bit early to be thinking about it yet. Time to rake out moss if you have any, when its not too wet.

But the best weeder I've used is Verdone 2. I tend to feed sometime after I've weeded. Discard the cuttings or If keeping compost them for a long time.

I use Lawn Magic from superspray.co.uk it comes in five litres by mail order. Its a liquid feed so you do need a supersprayer to apply with your hosepipe but £/litre works our really cheap and its very good!
Watch out when applying pelleted lawn feeds. if it doesnt rain soon after application you may get brown 'scorch marks' on your lawn. Liquid feed every time for me!

I've tried a good few on my sorry-for-itself lawn and the Evergreen in the sprinkler tub works a charm, gives me luscious green grass within weeks!

I always use pelleted feeds. As long as you use a proper spreader they should be ok . Check in your garden centre for the cheapest type. They all contain much the same only the branded stuff costs more.
If you have moss on your lawn you will get darker patches as it works on killing the stuff.

There's only so many manufacturers who make weed and feed - just lots of rebranding!

I always wait til the Evergreen stuff is on special before I buy it I tried the Tesco own-brand version and it didn't work as well.
