I have been putting threads on for the last few days and just getting more and more confused !!!
Both me and my husband have both paid £1000's over the years to bank, more my husband £7000 went to the bank for his mortgage. We are all up to date now but not too well off and my husband last year was laid off from work after christmas and looks like it may happen again so thought I would look in to it.
I have got my husbands details and used the template to request the breakdown of the accounts, but wondered how long are you able to sort charges out as I had problems about 13 years ago, will banks give details or still have them if you have no numbers or more to the point is it worth doing that

Assuming you are talking about bank charges (eg for going overdrawn) - you haven't actually said.
Banks keep statements for 6 years so they can't provide you anything longer ago than that.
However, as the court found in favour of the banks, you could only claim for financial hardship and I sincerely doubt they would accept your claim back that far.
If you incurred thousands of pounds in fees, as your post suggests, then I would say your account was very poorly managed indeed and any financial hardship caused by 'charges' was in fact caused by your own poor account management.I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0
