Where to advertise house for sale without using estate agent?

I used https://www.houseladder.com and got several enquiries, typically just as we decided as circumstances had changed not to move!! I took a few photos did a write up, didn't pay any money. I think there was another one which was something like privatehouseforsale.com0

We lived on a 12 year old estate with a mixture of housing, close to several large employers and really well-placed for public transport & the motorway network. People used to drive along the road looking for EA boards or home-made notices and sometimes put letters through doors asking if you were thinking of selling. I know this approach won't work for everyone, but it was fine for us and saved us almost £5k in EA fees + VAT :rotfl:
Yep ! For sale signs at the property (professional or otherwise) are one of *the* most effective tools to sell a house, so a sign and a private ad will probably work well for most homes even if you're not on a main road ...0 -
You have to set the savings of money against the hassle you can have in holding a chain together etc. Estate Agents can be awful, but some of them can be very helpful - if you are going to manage without, have a look at http://www.choosing-estate-agent.info/selling_privately.htmRICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
For a few thousand pounds I can put up with a certain amount of hassle! I can also sort it out with the other buys after office hours. Its what you think works best for you in the end.0

ADVERTISING
This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed. We also do not allow advertising via PM
Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention.0 -
