Can anyone advise me on where to start reclaiming PPI on a secured loan (GE capital) that was paid off over 6 years ago and taken through a broker that no longer exists. I have all the paperwork regarding the loan. I tried writing to the comppany a few years ago but the said that as I bought the loan through a broker, I had to contact them. Is this worth pursuing? Cheers!

Ask GE the broker details, just to check who they were, but if your unable to go this direction because the broker is no longer active, you could try the underwriter/insurer of the policy.

What you could do is ring the FOS, explain your situation, and they may possibly suggest the above avenue as well, and check what liabilities and involvement they had when the insurance was sold to you.

The lender GE will or should provide you with details of the underwriter/insurer.
