  • You could always buy a used TV of the same make and model for about £490.
This way, you would be in about the same position TV wise, but you would also still have about £280 remaining from the payout.

If the TV is misdescribed then you still have the option of the Amazon 30 day returns policy.

My tv was a 60 inch. Not a 40 inch or a second hand 50 inch!!! I bought the 50pk350 6 months back for £470 and the only difference between that and the second hand 50pk590 shaun has mentioned is a couple of hdmi ports. Anyway I am going to be calling the credit card company to make a claim under section 75 of the consumer credit act
  • Don't be so sure it will succeed, I think the company have been fair in their offer.

Im not sure it will succeed but I wish to pursue for the reason that their customer service and handling of the whole matter has been atrocious. They provided me with a tv which had numerous dead pixels right from day 1 and the tv eventually developed more problems. They always fobbed me off whenever i tried to communicate with them. If they had provided a better service I wouldnt bother pursuing... I only purchased from them as they were cheapest. Well one good thing to come out of this is I have learnt not always to go with cheapest!!!

OK, so make your case. Find a reasonable replacement of the same spec, and if you can't buy it with the refund offered, go back and ask for the difference.
