How long does a payroll run take?
Comments
-
The payroll has been "run" as the OP has been getting paid - Ha ha hathe only bit missing is the printed payslip.
As 99.9% of the work has already been done to calculate and again, ha ha ha and generate the payment, the fact that they do not seem able to finish the final 0.1% of the process makes me suspicious.
Up til recently my main work was doing payrolls from single employee up to multi million pound business.
It is perfectly feasible that your employer is making his own calculations, say on paper, and is not in fact running payroll properly.
First question I would ask is of HMRC and I would request confirmation that the company is registered on Sage payroll. Otherwise they won't be getting updates to things like tax codings, benefits etc.
Sounds a bit strange but there are people out there who operate illegally and/or improperly.
Just be careful you don't lose your employment until you have an alternative.
Good Luck.:)0
