No, I'm just pointing out the absurdity levels on some of your posts.
Although there are so many of them, I could soon get bored.
A bit like shooting fish in a barrel.;)
What was absurd about my post?
Can you explain?
For reference, my post was...Graham_Devon wrote: »Back to school sales of laptops?!
Blimey, if I was lucky I got a new plastic protractor, a new pencil case, and a pocket sized collins dictionary which seemed to be the ultimate requirement but never used.0 -

You don't know?
On a topic concerning retail sales (which if I remember correctly you had plenty to say last time they were out) all you could comment on was your school protractor and pencil case.
Sounded absurd to me.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

I think it was his 'astonishment' at the fact that kids got 'back to school' laptops......when all he got in his day was a pencil and protractor.
Not an unrealistic remark really as quite honestly I am surprised kids get back to school laptops too.Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'

I find it odd the people who were cast iron certain the last lot of figures were down due to the economy when new figures come out showing they are up and they are treat them as incorrect or lies?
How about figures go up or down and when they are the opposite to what you think it does not mean they are untrue. It just meant you are not as all seeing as you think you are.
Last time we argued the weather could have an effect, not that the figures were incorrect.
Retail figures going up are good for all of us, I am totally unsure why a rise is treated so negatively.
I hope they carry on going up.
PS, Laptops mot probably for university and home use for school work. School have their own laptops, or laptop schemes.
There are not children on mass going to school with new laptops in their bags, there is the odd scheme otherwise so all machines are uniform and have the schools software image on.
If they took anything in it would be unworkable form an IT point of view, so use for school work is more like it.0 -

You could have a point. However unlikely, it could be that Graham genuinely wasn't aware that kids had lap tops these days. However, on the balance of probabilities and considering his show boating at last month figures, I am of the opinion the protractor and pencil case were a convenient diversion. If I don't reply to your post,

We have to hope they do.
I suspect there will be a number of retailers moaning on television about a lacklustre Xmas trading period.
Prices increases in basics like food and energy mean there is less to spend on non-staples.
Then there is market saturation. Just how many ipods ; mobiles ; laptops; lcd tvs; do you need ?
Isn't there a point where someone says "I'm sure this dvd player will last me a few more years yet, why do I need 3D ?".0 -
I had an electric typewritter to do my school work on.
Odd that the "So I have an iphone (ps3/plasma/etc etc), that does not mean I have a better life than people back in XXXX years." posters are the ones moaning about kids having computers.:D
Not a dig at you kabayiri.:)0 -

If it was I think we are definately out of the woods, if not I'm not so sure.
No sadly it was just the standard sized twix, but before he chose the twix he did hesitate for a second or two over a frys peppermint cream.
We would have been home free :rotfl:0
