It's looking good ... this is the start of the long climb back.

People are spending - of that I witnessed last weekend in our Shopping Centre.

Mortgage applications are up, house sales up.

"It's not as bad as we thought" is what I hear around here.

    Great news for UK plc!

    Let's not knock it!

I witnessed a man buy a twix from our town centre newsagents last saturday. Things are definitely improving in my neck of the woods.

When the only comment Graham has concerns his school protractor, we can safely assume these are encouraging figures.

Am I by any chance getting to you? ;)

Sorry, this sounded a bit muffled, must be due to your head being in the sand.

    Now, Now, Now ....

Be honest - who on here is really hurting?

Maybe we/me/you can save £100 a month less ... so what?

We're not starving, we live in freedom, we can live as we want to live ... just because the debts are coming home to roost just means people have to be accountable for their own destiny like never before.

Those of us who have run our lives by careful management of money should rejoice that we are now proved to be the sensible ones and can now spend our wealth ..... saved through many years of frugal disciplne!

How does inflation play into this figure? With 5 inflation over September last year, 0.6% more turnover doesn't sound like much?

Actually, when your only comment concerns graham and his school protractor, we can safely assume these aren't all that encouraging figures.

I suppose the crunch question is was it a kingsize?

If it was I think we are definately out of the woods, if not I'm not so sure.

    :rotfl:

No, I'm just pointing out the absurdity levels on some of your posts.

Although there are so many of them, I could soon get bored.

A bit like shooting fish in a barrel.;)
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.
