Are Barclaycard still doing this?

Hello to you all,
For a while I seem to remember reading a lot of posts on here from people being accepted for a Barclaycard, being issued with their card only to have their account closed a short time later. Are Barclaycard still doing this at the moment or has anyone had recent experience of this?
I haven't seen any posts like this in a while but I am a bit concerned that this is something they are still doing because I have just been accepted for the following Barclaycard Orange card:
http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal/partner-cards/orange
The reason I am concerned is because I have requested a balance transfer of £2,600 from a card that is already closed until the balance is paid in full due to rejecting an interest rate hike.
If Barclaycard were to close my account after doing the balance transfer how would this leave me? I.E. If they tried to return the balance to the card that is already closed would this leave the balance in limbo?
Sorry for the length of the post but any input would be greatly appreciated.

This can happen with any credit card they all have a term in the conditions that states they can remove your credit facility at any time0

I applied for barclaycard recently had an instant acceptance online.
The card came activated it registered for online banking to find the next day my card and account was blocked.
Spoke to barclaycard and they put me through to the new applications referral until or something similar, they asked me a few questions then re-activated my account again for me.0 -
If the card is repealed, it won't negatively affect your credit rating in any way, whether or not they've already done the BT.
If you're BTing from a closed account without an active card, you can make up the expiry date when Barclaycard ask. It doesn't affect the BT and they don't check.
All good!

Hi jackjones,
Many thanks for your post. That sounds very encouraging that they re-activated the card for you. I do have a good record with Barclaycard but the moment I did the Balance Transfer my heart sunk when I remembered about them closing accounts in the past but your experience puts my mind at ease. Thank you for taking the time to read and post.
Much appreciated,

Hi Izools,
Thank you for your post. This also puts my mind at ease.
Didn't know you could do that with a closed account (make up the expiry date) - brilliant!
This definitely puts me at ease. Thank you for posting.
Many thanks,
