confused which tariff to pick
help have just done the comparisons and 2 scottish power tarriffs are coming up for our Electric. Energyhelpline says they will cost us the same so which do I pick? WE haven't been in our house year so am not quite sure how much we will use so have used their estimate. The tariffs are:
13.25 p per day standing charge on 7.951 per unit
Or
13.436 for 1st 225 units each quarter and then 7.95 per unit
Any suggestions?

I've just checked the figures, for average consumption the figures are within a few pence a quarter.
So basically energyhelpline are telling the truth, it doesn't make a huge difference. If you want your bills to be simpler, go for the standing charge option.
If you're planning to go on holiday and leave the property empty for weeks at a time, or are going to use tiny amounts of electricity (ie less than a third of the national average) then the no standing charge option is for you.0
