When did you last sign on? What have you been doing since you signed off last time?

Contributory based JSA is only payable up to 26 weeks. As your partner is earning, the Jobcentre would have made a calculation for income based JSA and it seems your partner is expected to provide for you. Sorry :(
It seems only class 1 contributions are used towards cont JSA - even though you've been signing on and getting NI contibutions, it may not count towards cont JSA. Worth questioning though. Have you been to your local citizens advice bureau?

  • Whether you are entitled to contribution-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), depends on the National Insurance contributions you have paid over the last two complete tax years before the benefit year you make your claim in.

A benefit year starts in January (on the first Sunday of that month) and ends a year later.

To complicate things further, the NI that you pay, or the NI 'credits' that you get whilst claiming benefit, don't necessarily qualify you for payment of further current benefits; some of them only count towards your state pension. It depends on the NI Class paid or credited.

Hi. Have you had Contributions Based JSA for 182 days and it exhausted?

If so, can you tell me when this award stopped?

You can get a further six months of this, but dates are crucial. If you reply back, I can tell you more, rather than me just going into things that may not be relevant to your situation.

    :)
