Sudocrem & emulsion

The young children in the house before I bought it, thought it would be fun to smear sudocrem on the walls of their bedroom  (an antiseptic cream with a greasy sub-base for those who are currently wondering what sudocrem is!).

The walls are painted with emulsion. The cream has made the paint look thinner and slightly less matt.

I will be repainting with emulsion in the next few days. Would it be a good idea to use stain block paint as a precaution before emulsioning, or not really necessary?

Thanks.

As above, just wash with fairy washing up liquid or sugar soap - you shouldn't need to use stain stop - stain stop although good is also difficult to overcoat with emulsion.

oh the old sudocream. we had it painted on our carpet when our daughter was 2. no amount of scrubbing would get it out of the carpet properly. in the end we stretched the carpet so badly had to replace it.

i would go with others about oil based undercoat or a stain stop then repaint.

Many thanks all. I don't have any oil-based undercoat so stain stop it is.
