Very.co.uk payment problems

Yesterday I paid very a payment online. before I could complete the payment process (I got upto the Vericard part and put in my password) the screen flicked back to the payment page with a message stating there had been a technical fault.
Usually when I make a successful payment I receive an email acknowledging payment and it shows that the payment has been made on my account. Neither of these things have happend in relation to this payment
I did the same process 2 more times and each time I got the technical fault message, no emails and no payment showing on the account
I was checking my bank account today and have noticed that there is money pending to be taken out. I have checked with the bank and they have told me that the payments are for the catalogue and to phone them to see if they can cancel the pending payments.
Unfortunatly they are only open 8- 4 so cannot call tonight
Their customer service has already confirmed that they had a problem with their payments system yesterday.

Where do I stand in getting my 2 excess payments back.?

You can contact them and they can refund the overpayment?

I had this problem yesterday and contacted the bank and they told me that i had to get in contact with very.Which i have and they have told me that they can't refund me and i have to wait til 5 days til the decline the payment now i wouldn't complain but it is £712 the took for a balance of £400 which i have cleared my balance so have no outstanding payments.

the aren't very helpful and there customer service is shocking and all i'm asking is they fax my bank with headed paper with my details stating the no longer want the payment which my bank has advised they do so the fund can go in today but according to very it's against company policy and data protection.

can anyone help me please
