Replace Bath/Fit Wetroom Shower Pod in One Day Adverts - Who is Good/Bad? How Much?

Hi
I've seen lots of ads for these pods where they remove your bath and slide in a full, ready-to-use wetroom/shower pod in the space and plumb it in in one day, all ready to go. (For use by a limited mobility elderly person)
Any good/bad ones to find/avoid?
Roughly how much are we talking about?
Cheers

You lot must be a dirty lot if you can't tell me how much they cost .... you've obviously not been washing.

I got a wet room via council disabled facilities grant. Cost just over £3000 i think and took a week to complete the work. Can't advise on getting it done in one day or the cost of that. I would encourage you to check out the trader though, ensure they are legit, will do job properly for reasonable cost and not scam you.0

Hi , Has the disabled person had an assessment by an OT ?
If so and they are on low income ask about a disabilty facility grant, even if they dont qualify for a full grant they may get help towards the cost.We have a disabilty living centre in our area which gives advice on things like where to buy things for disabled e.g.
stairlifts, wheelchairs, scooters etc.if you have one near you they may be able to reccomend local tradesmen that could do the work for you without ripping you off.If its for an elderly person Age uk may help too.0 -
I think these ads stating they can do it all in one day mean if its straight forward -not quite sure what they mean by that.
We've just had a wet room done by the council through disabled facilties grant and it took almost two weeks. Wasn't as easy as it first looked.......bath was difficult to get down our stairs then the floor was found to be in need of replacement as it had started to rot and an outside wall needed complete replastering. Without these hiccups they'd have had it done in a week.
Good luck
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

If there are disability issues then an OT assessment is definitely a good idea.
I have had an assessment, and am waiting for a date for the actual conversion! The OT was really helpful, making sure I will be able to access the wetroom - I will have grab-rails and the OT has also looked at the right seat for me....I don't believe that a company from an ad would have taken the same care to make sure I will actually be able to use my new wet-room!0 -

We used to have these in every district of Durham but due to budget cuts they have all been closed, we are not the only area where this has happened either so I would check the centers are still their before planning a visit.0
