Tesco Credit Card

I got the Tesco Credit Card last year for the 0% for 13 months thing and at first things were ok.
In March I noticed I got a late payment fee even though I pay by direct debit, I phoned them up and they gave it back to me. In April, same thing. They apologised and said there was an error and gave it back to me again.
I can't really trust Tesco now not to take payments out of my account so I keep a close eye on the account to make sure they aren't taking more than they should out.
They said that my 0% deal was running out on the 11th September so on the 1st September (plenty of time before hand!) I changed my direct debit to take out the full amount instead of minimum payment.
I received another statement off them today and they had taken 79p of interest out of my account  I ring them up and they tell me that the direct debit wasn't set up early enough and it needed to be done by the statement beforehand as that is when they calculate how much money for my direct debit. I can't understand this as my statement comes out on the 11th September so I did do it before unless he meant 11th August which in that case why should I do it so far ahead when I still had a month of 0% left.
I am really annoyed because no where did it mention any of this and even though it was only 79p, with their past actions of just taking money out of my account in error I just got really fed up with them.
I asked him to cancel my account. He said ok and didn't bother with any customer retention stuff that I would have expected a normal company to have done. Therefore they lost a customer over 79p. I expect they don't care because I pay off my statement every month.
He said he wrote down my complaint but I am still really annoyed with them for just doing what they want with my account. If I hadn't checked it closely every month then they would have stolen £24 from me. And I still don't believe his explanation of this interest. They just don't care. Any point in writing a letter to them?
Now I have to find a new credit card. Hopefully I can get a good deal.

PLEASE, any one who reads this thread DO NOT touch anything financial to do with Tesco, they epitomise incompetence.
They're bank would not take my DD each month for 5 month. It has taken me hours on the phone and going into my bank to check all is ok and got it sorted this month.
They are totally utterly useless, and yes it is going as far as the FSO. They are that bad.0
