I'm in my early 40s & I would like to think young & fashionable & I love it.

CK1 for days & Chanel No.5 for evening.

My Mum used to wear it, I'm not fussed on it to be honest, my fav is Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche.

Like the others have said, there's no such thing as cheap Chanel perfume, unless you get it from Duty Free, or it happens to be fake.

I love Chanel no 5! was bought some last Christmas.

I don't find it heavy or musky, just what I call an "evening" perfume.

For the daytime I love (another really old one!) Lair Du Temps by Nina Ricci, as its fresh and a bit floral.

I LOVE CHanel No 5. Lair Du Temps, it's years since I have heard of that. Loved it and and the bottle with the bird stopper :)

I'm 40 next year and have been wearing it since I was 16! Perfume is a very individual thing, you have to be licenced to sell Chanel which is why the prices don't vary much, it's the only cabinet that gets locked at work.

Have just noticed one of Lidl's latest leaflets quoting an on-line article "CHANEL BEATEN BY LIDL’S £4 SCENT" (worth a quick google).

    ^This.

If you can find a "refill" type bottle that will be marginally cheaper but the bottle won't be as attractive.
