1st Holiday for me and my girlfriend (young couple)

Can anyone suggest a destination for me and my girlfriend, or give me any stories of holidays abroad for young couples?
Thanks for your help.

  • Depends what kind of holiday you are after - sightseeing? Relaxing? Partying?
My boyfriend and I have been away to partying places etc but now are looking to go somewhere more 'upmarket' and relaxed...
have been to quite a few party destinations so if that is what you are after give me a shout for some options!

Also, forgot to add, if its your first holiday (and also dependant on how long you have been together) I wouldn't go away for too long the first time - me and my partner went for two weeks the first time and by the end of it we were tearing each others hair out!

We went to prague for our first holiday.. it was lovely. :)
  • My DD and her BF both went to Kos Town last year for two weeks after their A levels, both were 18.
They are not great party animals but had fab time on the boat trips to Turkey and generally exploring. I can`t remember the name of the apartments they stayed in but the owner was very welcoming and they had everything to hand.
They both absolutely loved it and would recommend it.
  • We want somewhere relaxing. Another thing I meant to ask was do you think it would be better all inclusive or whether each component would be booked seperatly? I dont drink at all so I probably wouldnt make my money back on alcohol.
  • For our first holiday we went to Gran Canaria, Puerto Rico and stayed at the riosol apartments. It was beautiful as we had a huge balcony (You could fit 2 sun lounges, a table with 4 chairs and still have room to walk around), the apartments are at the very top of the hill in puerto rico and look out over the sea. There are plenty of trips to go on etc, i would go back tommorow if i could.

We did a split-stay at New York and Florida for our first holiday. We decided to just go for it and splash out (This was also celebrating both our 21st birthdays!). We saved for a year but it was an amazing holiday and definately a holiday we'lll always remember! It was also surprisingly cheap considering it was america and long haul flights, we did a lot of reseach and kept a close eye on the dollar and flight sales.

Good luck with whatever you decide, You'll be together so really thats all that matters ;)

  • i went to palma Nova for 2 weeks with my boyfriend on our first holiday abroad we went Self catering too which i found better to be honest.

best of luck with your decision
  • The best holiday me and my bf have had is Santorini, it is such a beautiful island and very romantic. The nightlife is quite low key but if you like nothing more than having a romantic meal with the one you love sharing a bottle of wine, watching the sunset this is the place. We would return tomorrow if we could :D

I would also suggest self catering, we went all inclusive in Cyprus last year and wouldn't do it again as we became stuck at the hotel with terrible entertainment. We would have preferred to be able to try all the different restaurants and bars.
