Energy Comsumption - Wattmeter Reading Help Needed!

I brought one off the Tchibo website, would link to it but it's sold out and you now can't view more details. Anyhoo... I've looked on my key meter and I have 2 rates I'm assuming on and off peak time.

I'm going to use the highest as my wattmeter can only do 1 rate. On the key meter is says pence/kwh and it states 10.330 does this mean £10.33 or 10.33p???

On my wattmeter I've put in 010.330 but is this right? I boiled the kettle and it worked out 20p? Does that sound about right? I also done an older kettle of 92p! The stereo works out 92p a day but the washing machines currently on £4.00 and the cycle is no where near finished!!

Help!!

Thanks

Well you can work it out with a calculator fairly easily.
Look at you kettle for the rating label....probably underneath so empty the hot water out first !!!!
    Might say 2.5kw
That means simply that if you leave your kettle boiling for 1 hour you will use 2.5kw of electricity.
If you key says .1033p that means 10.33p per kilowatt per hour so if it is a 2.5kw kettle 10.33 x 2.5 = 0.258 or just about 26p for the kettle actually boiling for 1 hour
I think you may have put your decimal point in the wrong place.......instead of 10.33p you should have put .1033
That should give you a more reasonable reading.

Now you' got me at it now....
    2.5kw kettle 10.33 x 2.5 = 0.258
    The above should read.....
    2.5kw kettle .1033 x 2.5 = 0.258

    Oh I'm getting really confused!!

I've changed price/kwh to 0.103 the kettle boiled for 2 mins using .06 kwh and it's saying it's cost £0.00!!

Argh!! I can't see why on price/kwh its xxx.xxx if I'm only using after the decminal??!

My key meter says 010.33 so I put in my wattmeter 010.33.. but it was giving silly prices.. I've just changed it to 000.103 and now it's not registering any price as it's so small?

Rather a selfish attitude and it also wastes forum mods valuable time!
