Verifoed by Visa

Just had the usual bank phishing mail but slightly different, it was asking for verified by visa password to be ""changed"" Its a generic mail so how would this help them, I could understand if I was targetted specifically.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Perhaps it's a two part scam: after verifying your VBV password they ask you to verify your other card details too. :rotfl:

Assuming the email had a link to click on, it would probably have taken you a site where you would have been invited to the enter all your account details, including your VISA account number and current VBV password.

  • You could easily be right, NEVER click on links on emails anyway.

Any of these that I get have the hyperlinks reported to http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/ - you just have to make sure that you're reporting the real hyperlink rather than the visible one.
