When you phoned the helpline to tell them about dla they need to refer to to a different department who will check it before awarding the disability element and the current timescale just now is 2 weeks. The phone number for that department changed just over a month ago but not all advisors on the helpline are giving out the correct tel no so its maybe worth checking with them it's the correct tel no you are dialling. The disability element has no effect on your childcare element, as long as you work at least 16hrs per week and use a registered childcare provider then you are eligible for help.
