There is defo something wrong with my pc. There is no sound, and when I click on the icon it says "There are no active mixer devices" I have checked in the control panel and it says there is nothing installed.
I have problems getting onto the interent, my isp says its not them and it must be something to do with the pc, I am lucky enough to get on today, usually it just doesn't work.
Colours change- what I mean is that the blue toolbar at the bottom of my screen changes to a cream- reminiscent of my old pc before XP.
I have tried a system restore to a couple of weeks ago, it wouldn't work, basically said that it was unable to complete the restore. I have tried doing this a number of times for different dates- no joy.
The hard drive itself make funky noises- like clicking, and the occasional beeping. I have checked for viruses, cleared history, cookies and temp net files.
Any ideas what is wrong? I really don't want to by a new pc as this is only 2 years old.

oh carp!

Is it normal for a hard drive to fail after 2 years? I got it built to order- could that have something to do with it?0 -
Hard drives can fail at any time really - there's only a few moving parts in a PC & that's one of them. Favourite way of damaging a drive is to switch the PC off at the mains without shutting down - usually if it's frozen or whatever. If the drive was bought on it's own, retail, then it may have a 3 year warranty - you can check by finding the make & serial number then go to the manufacturer's website & input the details - they will confirm if a warranty claim would be valid. At the same time, you will find a diagnostic utility to download which will confirm if you have a failing drive.0

You could try backing up everything you need to disc then try formatting the hard drive then a re-install of your operating system.Always looking for a bargain and to help0

It does sound like the hard drive to me, had similar trouble with an old computer running Windows ME.
Sometimes the system restore won't work if a process is running in the background, try starting you computer in Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when starting up.
When the menu comes up use the arrow keys to select safe mode and enter to start the process.
Safe mode is basically starting your computer using the very basic setting needed, your icons will look large but don't worry they return to normal after you restore and restart.
In safe mode try to restore and when complete you will be prompted to restart your computer, simple but if you get stuck just let me know.Mortgage FREE as of March 2015
