Currys fridge freezer refund problems

I bought a fridge freezer mid september, when it arrived it was broken so we arranged a straight replacement. The replacement item was recieved on 27th September but this wasnt suitable so this was collected on Mon 3rd oct.

My boyfriend was told the refund would take a maximum of 14days from the date of collection (3rd oct)

We havent had the refund, so I've rang currys customer service and she said the refund was authorised on the 28th sept, which is wrong as we took a relacement item at that time.

The refund should of been authorised sometime after 3rd oct when they received the item back.

She just kept saying refund wont be long now, I'm getting really worried (as the final collection was arranged by phone, and I have no email record of it) and also abit annoyed that they have had our money for so long.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do next, I'm not happy to wait around for a refund that might never appear!

I've just had a hunt and managed to find the collection note they left me on the 4th, when they collected the replacement freezer, (although this isnt dated I noticed) so at least I can prove now they did collect this item!

Currys are terrible at issuing refunds. I had a similar problem with a TV I oredered which never turned up. Eventually I just contacted my credit card company and they did a chargeback.

Really, thats terrible!, how does a big company like Currys get away with it!

I'm going to have a google and see if I can come up with someone to complain to, not that they'll care!

Did you arrange collection online or in store? If it was in-store, you'd have to go back in to collect the refund
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
