Warning - Gumtree email attachment

Listed an item on Gumtree and had email from a buyer asking whether it is still for sale. I responded by saying it is still available and he then replied with an email saying he is interested and asked me to open an attachment to see further detail. I almost did! But I emailed the buyer back saying I don't have notepad, wordpad or Microsoft Office so could he tell me what is said in the document and I have not heard from him since:o
I am sure most people know about dodgy attachments in emails but I thought I will point it out anyway:D
Update
The buyer has come back to say that the attachment said they will pay via paypal and will give me £20 extra for postage! It is becoming more and more apparent that this may be a scam, "if at first you don't succeed (in scamming people), try again" that's certainly their approach.
