Child benefit/tax for shared care families

HELP me and my partner have a shared care order for his 2 kids so we have then half the week most of it being the school week he has to take them by bus 20 miles to school as they are school in Leeds and we live in Bradford the benefit money is in his name but now the ex wife wants it all and in her name we know she is entitled to some money but since she is been done with fraud before and now being looked into for benefit fraud we would like the money to stay how it is and us give her so much a week any advice on this matter would be helpful

Its up to the 2 parents to work something out. Can one of you claim for one child and the other parent for the other?

We have tried that but the ex wants all the money which she did have before she was told to pay us so much as at the time we had sole custody of the kids but she never gave us a penny so our social worker step in with the benefit people for us to claim we have offered 60 a month as she doe not have bus fares to pay for the kids to get to school the judge said that was enough for her but she would not have it!
