How to really upset Gas and Electric suppilers
I'm on a Web dual tariff, (sounds impressive, but its still impossible to work out if you getting the cheapest gas and electric!)
I've found away to really upset British Gas, Phone them and ask for a printed copy of your bill, I don't think they can refuse. Had two so far and had calls from Customers Service saying that its web based and they will have to charge in future, so I asked them to post me a printed copy of the terms and conditions, and they really didn't like that!
Then they said its about £5 for a printed bill, seemed odd they they used the word "about" (are they making it up?), and that I've already had two. Does that mean it says in the T+C's that its 2 free then "about" £5
Get calling!

Sounds a bit juvenile.
I manage my account online, I have access to all my bills that way. I have no need for a printed bill, and why should I?0 -
I would check the T & C's of your tariff - if it states you need to manage the account online, they can easily cancel your tariff and whip you with cancellation fees, from which you wouldn't have much recourse.
Surely it would annoy them more if you found a better deal and switched away?
And one more thing, if I were British Gas and found you were doing this just to annoy me, I'd charge you too!
"A bit juvenile".... Agreed.

I used to work in a British Gas call centre a few years ago. If I got a customer like you, I tell you what my day would be ruined. I would be so upset. Honsetly, I wouldn't just think 'tit'.
Seriously, all you might do is briefly be a minor irritation to a callcentre work. To a large gas/electiricty supplier, you are an account on the system, nothing more, however much they want to portray differently. I don't believe that your gas/electricity company, as a non-sentient entity, cares.0 -

I find it pretty easy to work out if I'm getting the cheapest gas and electricity. All you need is your annual consumption, you postcode and an internet connection. According to two different comparison websites my tariff is £66 a year cheaper than anything currently on the market.
I have no need for a printed bill since there's 2 years worth of bills online and I save PDF copies on my PC. Ringing them up to get one would waste my time just as much as theirs.0 -
Get an EDF online account and you will get sent paper bills anyway, because their online accounts don't work.
At least mine doesn't, I signed up Nov 10 and have never had online access, always had paper bills.0 -

another way to upset BG is compare your online tariff on uswitch and realise you would save £230 a year if you go with E-ons online saver 10, and switch from BG
like i did yesterday :rotfl:0 -

If you go to a Consumer Focus accredited comparison website and enter your Supplier, tariff name and typical annual consumption(s) in kWhrs you will get an accurate comparison.0 -

And I bet the senior management and directors sob themselves to sleep every night because of calls like this..Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
British Gas does not charge online customers who need paper statements! You have to get online bills but can always request paper copies free of charge0
