Money taken at the weekends normally shows up the next time the bank updates, typically Monday night. However, you should see your available balance decrease.
  • Banks close their payment schemes at different times e.g. where I work CHAPS closes at 4pm. ATMs at 5.30 and Faster payments at 9pm. Any transactions made after that time may well show up on line as 'today' but will be redated to the next business day when systems are updated overnight. Almost all banks redate weekend transactions to the next working day. These tend to be UK payment industry standards.
