Only had a new MOT a couple of weeks ago. Now it seems to be lost.
Will I have to take the car thru the whole procedure again or is the issueing garage obliged to issue me a replacement; for a small fee?
Any info appreciated

You can get a replacement for a small fee.
Go back to where you had the original one done, they can check their records and re-issue.

I would contact the issuing garage and find out what they say. It will be in their records. Surely even a small fee for a replacement is worthwhile. Good Luck0

Since it's all computerised now, there's no need to do anything unless you actually need to present the certificate for some reason. The police can check it online and you can tax it online so there's no need to panic.
Save yourself a few quid by sitting tight and only get a copy if you find you actual need one. You never know, the original might even turn up.What goes around - comes around0 -

Thanks for all your replies.
I've now discovered that you can print out confirmation of your MOT certificate, and check it's history etc; at this gov. site.
So save yourself £10 next time KizzyK
