Isle of Man Bank

I am currently trying to reclain bank charges like many others. However, does anyone know if the Isle of Man Bank follows the same acts as the others? I am two letters along and have been refused the £2700 in bank charges they have taken. Do I send the next letter? If so can I claim in the courts in the UK (where I now live)?

Does the bank have a registered office in the UK? If so you can claim via MoneyClaim depending on exactly where you live now? Check out....

I have now received a reply which states that the Isle of Man Bank is "not subject to UK law or indeed the Consumer Credit Act 1974, amongst other UK Acts"

Does this mean I am helpless in taking this further or is the Bank trying to put me off?

Probably yes unforunately for you. the IOM is not part of the UK and so UK legislation is not effective, although much UK legislation is mirrored in Acts passed by the Tynwald, mirrored but not the same! IOM is a Crown Dependency in fact.I have found thissite from which, hopefully, you may be able to finf something uselful.
