Home Insurance Administration Fee

Hi, I have used a comparison website to compare my home insurance. I took out a policy via the link and paid online. 2 hours later the broker then phoned me to say that they had cancelled my policy as they were no longer able to offer me the insurance due to my circumstances (all of which were put into the comparison website). They then also said that I was going to get a full refund minus the £70 administration fee!
Has anyone else had this experience, or managed to recover this fee?

is the broker making the charge or the insurance company?
What does the website say about charges?
What are they saying is the cause of you not being accepted for cover and did you not declare this in any way?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The broker is making the charge. They have cancelled their insurance due to a claim I made last year, which I put down all details in the comparison website.
They are charging me under the "fee cancellation charge".0
