Dropping Internet connection

One of my laptops keeps losing it's internet connection. Connection to router seems okay but no internet.
Simply disconnecting and reconnecting resolves the issue but the frequency in which it is happening is becoming most annoying.
Internet is with Virgin via cable and don't have any issues with other devices, leading me to believe it must be some laptop settings
Any ideas what to try
