  • Costco website is https://www.costco.co.uk

You can't buy on-line though in the UK. I seem to recall that their American website shows all their products and prices (in dollars).

I'm a great fan of Costco. Their quality and value is second to none.

weve been members years.OH is a special constable and that is one of the proffessions they accept.
You get a free second ticket for spouse so we both have membership for the £24 although we always go as a family anyway.
I buy huge bags of cat food, trays of excellent minced beef and OH gets his motor oil there.I buy the Clout washing powder which is SO cheap and lasts about 18 months for a drum and cling film which lasts about 3 years.
The lexmark printer cartridges are a good price and when Zip drives first came out we bought 10 discs for £80 as opposed to about £13 for one.Ive bought educational software and books in there when they have been cheaper than anywhere else too.
We only go every 3 months to save petrol and toll costs.
We go to the one near dartford and then nip round to Ikea for energy saving lightbulbs,a drink and a bun before we go home.

the Vax Rapide Deluxe is crap... I got one and took it back to Costco for a refund. They're good with that as you just say it leaks...

Some stuff in Costco is cheap but some things are not

Could you explain that a bit more, site seems to say it's trade only.

What are the proffesssions allowed, wifes a Nurse will that work?

    yes, NHS is applicable
  • yep, nurses can apply, but our store has a limit to the amount of nhs staff applying so you may need to time it right. Try anyway.

I think the best savings are

the cafe (I've gone there without doing a shop just for the baked potatoes, muffins and refillable drinks)

tyres- dirt cheap - nuff said

Orange juice - with last weeks offer, it cost just over 20p a litre I think

beer- I go for the small Stella bottles (I think they work out best value)

Meat - while i personally think its not the cheapest, the quality is outstanding. I'm about to go today to get some on the offer.

all the freebie samples you get as you walk around!

Only problem I ever had was once when the fire alarm went off (you could see smoke from the kitchen too) we had to evacuate, but the staff wouldn't allow us to leave via the fire escapes, they sent us to the store exit (admittedly this was furthest away from the fire), but I almost made a complaint about this. We had to walk past 3 or 4 fire escapes to get out!!!!

    I love it though

    Another Costco fan here!!

Following a visit to a store in Seattle, I was most impressed, brand named jeans were selling for under £4 at the time. I joined approx 10 years ago and use them on average 6 times a year.
The savings are huge, providing you spend wisely.
Kirkland Signature (US quality brand) is good value - eg. 1.3kg Columbian Filter Coffee for under £4!
    For my latest purchases:
Brushed Stainless Steel George Foreman Grilling Machine (Jumbo - 16 x 8 inch) for £35... normally £70.
Tefal Steamer (3 tier) on offer £23.50 - again half price.

All bulk items work out approx 30-50% cheaper so if you have got extra storage space, a big freezer and 2 hours to spare, then it is well worth a visit.

Costco offers a variety of unique items that you couldn't find elsewhere in UK. Ideal around Christmas time if you are stuck for ideas.

If you live in South East, Costco is looking for a site somewhere just south of M25. Hopefully, they'll find one soon!

so you lie and fraudulently claim a refund - its no wonder great shops like this are slowly doing away with such good refund policies...

A product does not have be “faulty” for Costco to offer a refund.

Next time Costco staff ask if there is anything wrong with the product simply answer “No”. It’s a lot easier than lying.

    Costco returns policy rocks!

Costco sell freezers too you know....................
cheers - I actually got a good friend to take me to Iceland and I got a large freezer for £199 to store all that lovely costco meat in.
I don't remember anyone mentioning plants, I bought my mum a lovely planter for Mothers Day in Costco, really good quality at £9.99. Also as I'm a trade member, love the free coffee and cake samples they give out in the mornings.
