Seller cancelled and refunded - should I accept / decline

Hi, I bought 2 HP touchpads (£108 each - been trying to get them for family for months).
I bagged them within mins of going on sale first thing in the morning.
The next day I had a refund and a cancellation request. (out of stock). I emailed the seller who replied and said they hadnt had any in stock for months (seemed plausible) and that the system had got it wrong (seems much less plausible to me).
I dont like leaving negs but I don't know what I should do. The seller has thousands of fb and over 99% so I guess a neg wouldnt have much impact but at least I would be giving a fair comment?
And should I accept or reject the cancellation? I kind of feel like they should pay a few quid for ebay fees after this.
Normally I am very sympathetic but I have tried to get these blooming things for months and had told mum I had got her one only to have to it was a mistake a day later. Personally, I still think they didnt want to sell for just over £108 because they know people are selling for more (or it could just be genuine).
Any advice appreciated.

I certainly wouldn't agree to the cancellation - let them pay the fees. They are ultimately repsonsible for what is listed on their account (unless it was hacked).
Not sure about the feedback though. I would probably consider a neutral with a comment mentioning not in stock.0 -
I wouldn't cancel, as like Lovinituk, I'd say that they are responsible for their listings and as such should pay their fees as it's not your fault.
I would leave negative feedback too. Again, it's implausible that they listed them in error....were they BINs or auctions? I assume BINs...in which case they knew how much they'd go for so couldn't be protesting at receiving less than anticipated for them...0 -
Hi, yes they were BIN.Item 160665885155
Thanks for the adviceBe nice0 -
Personally I would leave a neg for the simple reason that although the seller does have reasonably good feedback, an awful lot of the negs and neutrals that they have received are for not supplying items and claiming that they were out of stock.

It's about time that they got their stock system in order and didn't keep listing items that they couldn't supply.0 -

This is why I hate neutrals...
Leaving neutral is a waste of time as 99% ebayers will not use toolhaus etc and therefore just see a great feedback score.
I think your feedback should be a score out of 100. You get 0 for a neg, 50 for a neutral and 100 for a positive.Be nice0 -

this is the most plausible explaination, but not all dropshipping is bad, it is how you and the dropshipper works
i sell using a dropshipper and my dropshipper will allow me to reserve stock for a small deposit, so this stock it placed on hold for me, so if i sell on ebay as soon as i am paid the dropshipper gets paid and the item sent.
this service is not listed on their site, all i did was ask the dropshipper and he said no problem0
