Lovely to find other Pratchett fans.
I got a couple of dds into reading for fun by starting to read "the colour of magic" to them - by the end of chapter two they were snatching the book out of my hands so they could read it themselves.
I went to a book signing years ago and he not only signed a book for dd but on being told how stresed she was with A levels- he snapped the book shut- intoned in Latin - and inscribed it specially.
It startled the huge queue but was a lovely gesture.
Happy birthday ladies and raising a white wine to you.
