Please Help! Spark Energy - No Bills

Hi I hope somebody can advise me what to do next about this and where I stand. We moved into our rented house just over a year ago now, we have not had an electricity bill.
Shortly after moving in we tried to change our gas and electric to southern electric, and we received a bill for each from our last house so we assumed we had switched. The gas switched without a problem and our bill arrived which we paid. We waited for an electric bill but one never came so after 6 months contacted southern electric to ask what was going on and they said we were not supplied by them. So after finding out who my electricity supplier was SPARK ENERGY:( we have called them several times to ask for a bill which they still have not done.
My partner called them again and they agreed we could pay our bill off in instalments but we have not received any correspondence from them still.
The other day they sent a letter saying about setting up a direct debit and their price increases but nothing regarding the arrears.
So I am now worried I have been on an overpriced tarriff since 24th sept 10 and now they have increased it again!
They have never sent any letters previously stating what tarriff we were on or choice of payment method or that they were our supplier or bill.
Having looked at comments on SPARK ENERGY I am worried it seems any old bunch of crooks can set up an utilities company!

Spark Energy are a disgrace. I was with them for two years and they often sent me incorrect bills, promised me cashback due to their errors which never came, their phone even went through to answerphone for several months.. and now they've sent me a final bill for hundreds of pounds a good 17 months after I left them!
