IT Through Work and Red PC will do it , as we have only 65 staff. Haven't choosen yet.
Chosen ITTW, as they were more interested in us. They do the scheme evan if you only want 1 PC !
You can get PC,s cheaper from Dell, Aldi etc. i agree, but paying for it over 3 years, and 3 years warranty is a bonus for staff buying a PC for the 1st time.0 -
Our company has ran this scheme. We were given a choice of machines from Evesham. They were more expensive than buying them online from Evesham. HCi should allow the user to save around 40% but the suppliers appear to take it, in the guise of "bundle packs".
A lot of employees already had machines and software. We asked if they would supply a base machine with no frills. They offered one without a monitor, insisting that they needed to include software bundles, extended warranties etc.
They included a copy of Norton Antivirus. Fine - until people realised that it was only a 3 month demo version!
People who did take it up did remark that delivery was efficient though ,even arriving on weekends if arranged.

I am self-employed. Can I get on this scheme?? I do need a bike and if I can get one tax free, why not??The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. :rolleyes:0

This scheme is run by employers for their employees.
I spoke to someone at http://www.ukhomecomputing.co.uk.
They said that there are alternatives for Self Employed.
Perhaps its worth you contacting them directly. You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead0 -
The following website explains the tax free green travel plan scheme.itgirlinuk wrote:I am self-employed. Can I get on this scheme?? I do need a bike and if I can get one tax free, why not??
Not sure if it extends to people who are self employed, however I have spoken to a representative of this company: http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/ He seemed to think that it may be possible for the self employed.
It's also worth noting that if you use the bike for business trips you can claim (pay yourself) 20p/mile tax free.

We're about to go through it now with Fujitsu-Siemens so I'll have a look at what's on offer and put a further post on it when I get the details.
Basically we are being offered either a lap top or desk top pc, and there are three different specs., Base/Mid/High. Don't have any figures yet but a lot of people are interested so far.Cheers,
