Praise: Argos!

I went into my local branch of Argos yesterday to buy a new pushchair because mine fell apart on the way into town (grrrr!) but unfortunately the one I wanted wasn't in stock in any of the local stores :(
I explained to the manager that I need it as soon as possible so he offered to go and get it personally for me from a branch 45 miles away so I can have it tomorrow :j
How's that for great customer service? :D

    thats fantastic.

I would write to Argos head office and tell them about this. This guy is a decent person and deserves credit for it.

Lovely when someone goes out of their way for you.

Yes I'm definitely going to send the head office a glowing letter of praise. It's lovely when somebody goes that extra mile for you, it really made my day. Plus it's nice to be able to say something really positive about a big company for a change! :D

But it could also be a case of him having a bit on the side in the other store so he may be going to see them at the same time, orif you write a letter in to the Head Office and he is not supposed to leave the store could end up being sacked for it.

Or could be that he lives close to the store he's collecting the goods from - but given that any stock transfer would have to be done officially, chances are that Head Office already knows about it. Perhaps that's just me seeing the good in people as opposed to automatically assuming there's something dodgy going on!

He actually went through the stores where the item was in stock in front of me and the store that he's collecting the item from came up as the nearest. It is possible he lives near the store I guess...but even so, he'd probably have to go out of his way to actually collect the thing and he could have just said 'tough, you'll have to wait until it comes back in stock' which he didn't :)
I know what you mean though, I'm usually very suspicious of peoples' motives which is sad really isn't it?

When I bought a Vax cleaner in Argos, it went wrong from day one. I went back to Argos, fully expecting a "contact the manufacturer" type conversation and was ready for a stand-off.

The CS lady couldn't have been more helpful, she took the Vax back, recommended a cleaner that she had bought herself a couple of weeks ago (Morphy Richards) and told me that it was due to be discounted within the next week so gave me a refund and suggested that if I could live with a dusty house for a few more days, she would put one aside for me and ring me when the price went down....which she did!

I went back to buy it, she was right, it was fab. Great customer service!
