Acessable days out

Was fortunate to have a weekend away this weekend.
And thought we could do with an acessable thread.. places that were good for wheelchairs/pushchairs..
Paignton Zoo
you can be dropped off at the zoo entrance, whilst your group park up and come back to you.
Was expecting to pay full price as my bb was in the car being displayed and had no proof of being disabled apart from my stick.
my partner was charged £9.90 for me (not even adult price) and he was free of charge as my carer, we didn't say he was, we just asked was there any concessions although can't proove as bb in car, lady was really nice and said not a problem.
Mobilitiy scooters £20 returnable deposit, £5.00 to use one.
wheelchairs £20.00 free to hire.
Recommend the wheelchair/scooter hire, never been to Paignton zoo before and it is quite a walk around, with nice big clear paths, even into the buildings. only one area not acessable is the rope bridge but there is the alternative route
The only hiccup we had is a black turkey took offence to the black scooter i had to proceeded to harrass the scooter and attack it... was quite funny as where ever i went whilst in that enclosure turkey followed... no matter what we did, took others to divert turkey whilst we made our escape out of the enclosure.
Would i go again, very much so, disabled friendly with a huge tick.
the only downside was the buggy brigade that blocked the viewing areas with their buggies facing towards the animal enclosure even if their baby/child was fast asleep, so no one else could get a look in. so you did have to stay back and wait until they stopped talking about who ever and then move on. A few of the usual i can see you but i dont want to who then walk into you even if you have just had eye contact with them and you know they saw you...
apart from that Paignton zoo was brilliant.
