people who say 'please bear with me' - totally gets up my nose for some reason (probably cos it comes across as a self-important way of saying i'm putting you on hold)
  • Phone numbers that you ring that have 2 minutes of selection menus and number pressing to be able to speak to a different machine. I'm sure it a conspiracy with the phone company to make more money and they all talk soooo sllooowwwlllyyyy just so it takes longer and costs more money -- annoying!!

(What number are you up to?)
  • THANK YOUFOR HOL-DING YOU ARE PRESENTLY NUMBER FORTEETWO IN THE Q ...... >:(

I would just like to expand on no 3. 'Crap films' and say 'crap sequels to good films'. Why oh why do we still expect so much from a sequel when historically there are about three decent ones? I just saw Battle Royale 2 and it was sentimental, hollywood-ized, over-produced crap! Battle Royale however, was so bad it was good.

  • I love watching scary movie actually, simply because it shows how annoying horror films have become nowadays.

When I watch MOST american Films today, I only ever spot the formula in them, rather than the effect they are supposed to be having on me
(always the sign of a really bad film)

So if your gonna make one, make it intentional, thats what I say!!!

Scary Movie 1,2,3 exploits hollywood for their conveyor belt ' formula that works' within Film.

I think we need MORE of this type of stuff in order to eradicate the crap from our screens.

At least we can still take the p*ss out of ourselves in our darkest hour, so theres hope for us all yet..
    ;D

oh i don't know, when you go out everyone wearing ame stuff these days. same hairdos the lot. what happened to individuality.
I think at some point - possibly around 1979 - Katharine Hamnett was throwing an impromptu cheese and wine party in a small, but reasonably fashionable corner of London, having a conversation with someone who would later become VP of Ideas for a leading fashion house.

    It went like this:

Katharine: "I've decided I can heighten public awareness of serious and important issues simply by taking a shirt and writing a message on it in really large letters. I will make a name for myself, yes, yet more importantly, real and good change will come of it."

Other fashion bod: "Actually Katharine - I think you've hit on something. People like Ben Sherman have been making a name through the pulse-savvy quality of their tailoring. That's so 1950s... I'm going to put the name of the manufacturer on the (two-handed quotes) 'product' in really large letters and then people will never have to ask again - 'That's a really nice shirt, where did you get it?' I will make a fortune. Even BS will see the light one day..."

    The rest is history...
