Kellogg’s Corn Flakes has launched the ‘Help give a child a breakfast’ campaign. With your help they are donating £300,000 to school breakfast clubs - which equates to one million breakfasts for children by the end of 2012.
Thousands of children face starting the day hungry as one in eight breakfast clubs have been forced to close due to budget cuts. Over 20,000 breakfast clubs were running in schools across the UK, providing children with a nutritious meal as well as providing working parents with essential childcare. 3000 of these have been forced to close.
The new report by Kellogg's Corn Flakes also reveals that of these breakfast clubs still going, 45% of teachers think that budget cuts will force these to close too.
- What do you think of the Kellogg's Corn Flakes intiative?
- Do you use a school breakfast club?
- Do you wish your school had one?
- Is your school's breakfast club in danger of closing?
