car hire purchase agreement -problem?

Hi, I wonder if someone could give me some advice. My brother has signed a hire purchase agreement for a new car a month ago. The car was from a Ford dealership and was brought from another franchise to this specific group and had not arrived when he signed the agreement. When I had a look at the agreement I noticed that the car number plate on the document does not match the actual car my brother has, and that the vin/chasis number has not been filled in either. Does anyone know the implications of this?

Probably just a balls-up, but get it sorted. Give them a call in the morning telling them what's up, and asking for new copies of the documents showing the right details. If you're embarassed, blame it on your husband/wife/boyfriend/father wanting all the paperwork to match.

I should make it clear it was the car salesman that filled in the wrong number plate. I am presuming that when the finance papers were drawn up he did not know it. This, however, is no excuse for sloppy paperwork. I am not sure what consequences this may have as the finance was secured on the car which is the wrong one for the paperwork.

So give them a call, find out. It needs sorting, even if only for your peace of mind!!
