utilita

does anyone know anything about the utility company utilita?

Comments

  • Just had a rep call from Utilita asking to change over. The talk of the new smart meters was fantastic. I'm on prepayment meters currently with e.on so I thought Id sign up to them and then check online for reviews & comparison etc.

From reading online, they are a quite new and they are still getting on their feet in the UK. Some reviews Ive found haven't been too good for the company, however, most of the complaints seem to come from direct debit customers, Don't know if them issues have been sorted out or not.

On doing a price comparison I got these results:

    Current Supplier: E.on
    Tariff: Energy Plan with prepayment

Gas approx 12296 kwh per year
Elec approx 4052 kwh per year

Combined amount per year is approx £1249.65

    New Supplier: Utilita
    Tariff: Get Smart

    Gas approx: Same as Above
    Elec approx: Same as Above

Combined amount per year is approx £1070.72

    Total Saving: £178.93 per year

That's a big saving in my eyes plus I can have the benefit of the smart meters put in and I will be able to top up my elec/gas online (No more going shop in bad weather).

While the prices above are approx, I will still make savings even if I use more or less fuel, so overall quite happy that I've signed up now.

Don't take my word for it though. Do your research at comparison sites, read reviews & do your homework. While some companies get bad reviews it doesn't mean they are a bad company (All suppliers have their faults & fair share of bad reviews). Also remember that prices differ depending on the tariffs you choose and how you pay. I know I can save more money by paying quarterly but to me, prepayment is easier as I'm on a low income due to illness.

DO YOUR RESEARCH & GOOD LUCK :)
